Course Description: This course is designed to emphasize the study of the properties and applications of common geometric figures in two and three dimensions. It includes the study of transformations and right triangle trigonometry. Inductive and deductive thinking skills are used in problem solving situations, and applications to the real world are stressed. It also emphasizes writing proofs to solve (prove) properties of geometric figures.
Grading Scale: Grades will be assigned in accordance with district policy. Daily assignments, in-class projects, quizzes and tests will be used to determine grades.
A - 90%-100%, B 80%-89%, C 70%-79%, D 60%-69%, F 59% or less
Homework Policy: Students will be given daily assignments to enable skills practice. Except in the case of absences, for each day late, an assignment will drop ten percentage points. Assignments that are four or more days late will be assigned no points.
