Veazie PBIS News

PBIS Updates:
PBISKick-Of
This year our PBIS kick-of event will be at 8:45am on September 15th!
This event will feature Mr. Deep Positvity and (weather permitng) be
out in the school yard. We will also have rafes for students.
All teachers, staf and students are encouraged to wear their Spirit Gear!
K-2 classes will be paired with a 3-5 mentor class for this event. A sepa-
rate memo about those pairings will be sent out before the event.
VeazieBucks
This year Veazie bucks will be blue. A few starter sheets will be placed in
your mailbox soon. Additonal copies can be obtained from Ann in the
ofce.
Veazie bucks are to be used in the classroom. Please give out no more
than 6 per day to students following the Veazie rules. Note that Veazie
bucks should be separate from your classroom behavior plan.
ROAROuts
ROAR out boards have been distributed back to classrooms.
ROAR outs are meant to be given out in the hallways to entre classes
following the Veazie rules. Please limit yourself to one ROAR out per
day.
OngoingPBISPrograms:
Spirit Gear is stll available! Please encourage your students and fami-
lies to partcipate!
Student of the Month and Specialist Class of the Month will contnue
this year. Look for sheet in the ofce towards the end of every month.
Students will contnue to exchange Veazie Bucks for school store items
or special event days in PE, library and art.
Smencils will again be sold for $2.
NewPBISObjectves:
We are stll working on creatng a character educaton unit, but in the
meantme maybe we can start integratng into classrooms now. Simple
ideas include reading character ed themed books with your men-
tor/mentee class or creatng a drop in the bucket program so stu-
dents can recognize each other for kind acts.
This year we are planning to do more teacher motvator actvites. We
will contnue to have cofee on the second Monday of every month and
rafe of the preferred parking passes on Fridays. We are also planning
more actvites to promote fun and camaraderie among our staf, so
stay tuned! If you have any ideas please let your grade level PBIS mem-
ber know.
