1. Brief Description (in your own words):

a. Thinking about the title would be used before you read the text. This allows the
student to predict what the context will be able. Also it will allow student to
access their prior knowledge about the text at hand. This will make the reading
easier for the students because they will have an idea about the topic.

2. How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching, or in
Your own classroom
a. A great time to use this strategy would be when the educator is starting a new
lesson with the student. For example, if the teacher is going to start talking about
the American civil war. The teacher can write the American civil war on the
board and ask the student to access prior knowledge, so he can see what they
know about it. Then the educator could as questions. This will give the teacher a
guideline to where to start because he will find out what they know.
