Present Perfect
We use the present perfect to talk about actions that people did at some time in
the past of an unfinished period of time. The emphasis is on the fact that the
action was done rather than when it happened. In this unit, we use the question
have you ever + the past participle to talk about actions that people have done
and we answer with short answers. Example: Have you ever gone sailing? Yes, I
have./No, I havent.
We talk about actions we did or not by using the subject + have/has + the past
participle. Example: She has been on TV.
In this unit, we also talk about regular and irregular past participles. Regular
participles end in ed: walked, climbed, touched Irregular participles have
other forms: had, been, eaten

Presente Perfecto
Usamos el presente perfecto para hablar de acciones que se hicieron en algn momento del
pasado de un perodo de tiempo que an no ha concluido. El nfasis se hace en la accin
efectuada ms que en el momento en el cul ocurri. En esta unidad, usamos la pregunta
Alguna vez + presente del verbo haber + verbo en participio + predicado? para hablar de
acciones que se han hecho, y respondemos de manera breve. Ejemplo: Alguna vez has ido a
navegar? S, lo he hecho./No, no lo he hecho.
Hablamos de acciones que hemos hecho o no usando sujeto + presente del verbo haber + verbo
en participio + predicado. Ejemplo: Ella ha estado en televisin.
En la presente unidad, hablaremos tambin de participios regulares e irregulares. Para formar los
participios regulares, se agrega ed al infinitivo del verbo: walked, climbed, touched Los
participios irregulares tienen formas distintas: had, been, eaten
