Discover U Teacher Responsibilities

Daily Duties:
Arrive on campus with a winner's attitude at 7:30AM and be ready for the day!
Maintain Professionalism! When speaking with parents, staff and students maintain a positive
demeanor, tone of voice and appropriate body language.
Pick up students at 8:10; greet students as they enter the classroom, Start teaching class like a
superstar.
Daily agenda is posted with pride and care on the whiteboard in your room.
Heading must be present date, and agenda should include activities for the day
Radio charged nightly, on during day. When using radio press button, wait two seconds, then
speak. Make sure you hear a response from whoever you are contacting, especially if you are sending
a student up on a referral.
Enter attendance into Schoolmaster: Enter a.m. attendance 8:20-8:30 Enter p.m. attendance within
10 min. of returning to class after lunch recess.
Check DISCOVER U & LEONA GROUP email daily and School Mailbox
Maintain a tidy classroom environment. (Have students clean-up between transitions and before
leaving for the day.)
When a student is not following school or classroom expectations and they will need to have a referral
submitted for the infraction. Parent contact is required to be documented on the same day a referral
is written.
Utilize DU calendar: Volunteers coming to class , time off, events in classroom (staff members should
be able to look at event and know what is taking place)
Weekly Duties:
Complete lesson plans the week prior to teaching the class using map for the class, submit no later
than Monday morning in Hatanakas mailbox
Maintain student portfolios with relevant work and assessments of standards
Check Special Education Census for new students and read IEP in Hatanakas office.
Submit electronic time sheet Friday using UltiPro before leaving campus.
Maintain a current and polished looking class website following basic minimum standards as set up by
Hatanaka (dated weekly news, homework -if you have-, respond to emails)



Monthly Duties:
Complete SPED Progress Reports as needed by SPED teacher/coord.
Complete Time and Effort Logs if this applies to your job.
Quarterly Duties:
Update curriculum maps for ELA and MATH, as needed.
Participate in regular PLC team meetings and Leona-wide professional development opportunities.
Complete progress reports and final grades in Schoolmaster. Curriculum Coach will notify teachers of
grade submission dates.
Document 3 contacts for each student to parents/guardians regarding attendance, grades, behavior,
referrals, etc. in Schoolmaster/Guidance/Parent Contact.

Administer benchmark tests for each class in Galileo. K 1

Administer benchmark tests for
each class using Dibels. Use data to guide instruction.
Complete 45 day screenings following timelines.
Update Bulletin Boards with student work @ minimum once per quarter.
