Worked in the nuclear industry for over 27 years and within the feld of
radiological safety assessment and Safety Case management for over 23
years.
Managed all sizes of safety case and prepared safety cases covering all
types of nuclear plant and activities on the Sellafeld site, i.e. chemical plant,
mechanical handling plant, waste storage and transport, decommissioning
operations, pond retrievals, etc.
Experienced in HAZOP studies for all stages of Sellafeld operations
both as Chairman and Secretary.
Produced a large number of Hazard Analyses (HAZANs) and
Operational Safety Memoranda (OSM) in support of Sellafeld Site safety
cases and plant operations.
As a technical team leader within Sellafeld safety and risk
management department, led safety assessment teams.
As a SQEP INSA assessor, Logic & Methodology checker and Release
Fraction and Decontamination Factor checker, reviewed a large number of
assessments for all areas of the Sellafeld Site.
Over a period of 15 years, and for the majority of the Sellafeld
Operating Units, advised Senior Managers on nuclear safety issues whilst
acting in the role of Independent Safety Person (ISP).
