Interpretive Web Site Category
Notes on Web Site Category
Seventh year as a full NHD category.
Individual and Group entries are separate.
Rule changes in 2010-2011 made based on
feedback and use of new NHD Web Editor.
Web site judging at state contest is now
open to the public, similar to
documentaries or performances.
Rule #1-Entry Production
You MUST usetheNHD

at theschool level
Existing professionally
produced materials can be
used with proper credits
Student must operateall

Rule #2-Size
Maximum of 1,200
student generated
words
Word count must
be listed on home
page and process
paper
No more than 100

Rule #3-Navigation
Must have homepage
Homepage must include
name, title, division and
menu of other pages
All pages interconnected
by links, no automatic
redirects
NHD Web Editor will
provide the link/URL to
your homepage
Rule #4-Multimedia Usage
Multimedia is limited to no
more than 4 minutes for entire
website; students may divide
this time however they wish
No narration of student
composed text
Free, secure, legal download
links required for any plug-ins
needed
Files that cannot be viewed
will not be evaluated.
