Governor's Gazette

10, January 1776

Dummies Guide to
Raising Hell
Yesterday, 9, January 1776, a pamphlet was pub-
lished,in the colonies, by an anonymous source. This
person argues for the notion of American Indepen-
dence, comparing government and society and then
going on the compare government to a "necessary
evil at best".This person then goes on and imagines a
scenario where a group of people were placed on an
island, with no communication to the outside
world. The people in this imaginary scenario develop
their own laws over time, and are portrayed as happi-
er this way, in a government with no direct leader and
little to no power outside their small colony.
Moving on from his delusions this person then
ridicules the British government, stating it is full of
contradictions, saying that his highness, King George
III, is given too much power over the people and that
his government is pretentious. As well he questions
the overall idea of monarchy and preaches his belief
that men should live lives completely ungoverned
and be let to run around as animals. He blames the
Jewish for creating monarchies and uses our Lord
and Savior as an excuse behind his illogical ranting
and tells his arguments against hereditary
succession.
