STUDYING VOCABULARY IN 7

GRADE READING:

Studying with your blank index cards
1) On the FRONT of each notecard, write the vocabulary word.

2) On the BACK of each notecard, draw a line down the middle (from top to
bottom, and left to right), so that you have 4 boxes.

a. In each of the four boxes, fill in with information from your
dictionary (see the example on the back).

3) Study! Test yourself see if you can wait 20 minutes to tell someone after
you look at the card.

1. Open www.quizlet.com and log in
Click Sign Up button. Fill out user name, password, email, birthday. An email
will be sent to you and you must click confirm. You can use your log in to
create notecards for vocabulary this year for Reading and your other
classes!
If you want to see the teacher's set of notecards: log in with user name-
reading1415, password- vocab1415 (BUT YOU CANNOT CREATE ANY
NEW NOTECARDS UNDER THIS USER NAME- ONLY THE TEACHER
CAN).

2. On the left, join Class: Reading 7, Stern/Gomez
Open the Set: Vocab #1-20 (TCOMW)

3. Study flashcards
a. Click on Learn (practice with computer flashcards)
b. Click on Spelling (turn off volume!)
c. Click on Test (create and take your own quiz!)

4. Practice words with games (only after you have studied your flashcards)
a. Space Race
b. Scatter

5. When you want to create your own vocabulary notecards using Quizlet, click
Create New Set and add words.
