Healing in Salvation

Healing has been paid for and there is nothing you can do about it! Jesus Christ paid for
all of our sicknesses, diseases, injuries, infirmities, and whatever interruptions in wellness you
may experience. Psalm 103:3 states that the Lord has forgiven all our iniquities and healed all of
our diseases. The Bible contains the inerrant word of God and God cannot lie therefore making
any promises from God truth in its purest form. So I will use a plethora of Scriptures to prove
that healing has been paid for once and for all for everyone.
As a brief introduction let us first understand the character and nature of God. He is the
Creator of Heaven and Earth and is all powerful and entirely good. He is complete in every way
and loves us more than man can most likely fathom. When Jesus saves, He saves the entire man
leaving nothing for Satan to trample on. Jesus paid for the spirit, soul, and body of a man by
redeeming us from sins, giving us authority over the enemy, and healing all of our diseases.
Every man has a spirit, soul, and body forming the complete entity of that man. It only makes
sense that God would desire to save the whole man and not just 33%.
Isaiah 53:4 clearly states that Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains. The correct
definition for bore comes from the Hebrew word nasa meaning to suffer a heavy load. The
Hebrew word used for carried would be sabal, which is similar to nasa, and means to bear a
heavy load as a substitution for someone else. This prophecy in Isaiah is then confirmed in
Matthew 8:17. We see these two Hebrew verbs, nasa and sabal, used a little later in Isaiah
53:11-12 in order to describe Jesus bearing and taking away all of our iniquities and sins. There
is no logical way you can argue that Jesus bore all of our sins and not our sicknesses as well. If
you are so bold to question Jesus bearing all of our sicknesses then you also questioning whether
Jesus bore all of our sins. Any Christian church would easily claim blasphemy if you questioned
Jesus not forgiving all of our sins so it should be no different with healing.
Jesus was our Redeemer and Sacrifice for both sins and sicknesses. In Numbers 21:9
Moses made a bronze serpent and if any man looked at it he lived. (This is right after the
Israelites left Egypt and were now in the wilderness.) The people sinned and fiery serpents were
sent to bite the people, many got sick and died. So Moses petitioned God for healing and so the
Lord instructed Moses to make a bronze serpent and if anyone would look at it then he would
live. Hopefully you see the foreshadowing of who this bronze serpent represents. John 3:14
states, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so the Son of Man must be
lifted up. Jesus was lifted up and took our sicknesses in the same manner that the bronze serpent
did in the wilderness. Anyone who will look to Jesus will receive healing.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reads, Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

For you were
bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body

and in your spirit, which are Gods. Our
body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and was bought by God. Our bodies are no longer owned by
us but by God. We are called to glorify our bodies and in Romans 12:1 Paul instructs us to
present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.
Anytime you make a sacrifice to God you sacrifice the first and best that is without blemish.
Cain made the mistake of offering something second best to God and the Lord did not respect
Cain or his offering. God is not second rate; He bought our bodies and spirit because He does not
do anything halfway. If God has paid for your body then you are healed; if God has commanded
you to present your bodies a living sacrifice then you are healed.
Salvation is more than just forgiveness of sins. I am not downplaying forgiveness of sins,
but I think most Christians can agree on that so there is no need to debate that. But most
Christians do not realize that salvation also includes healing, redemption from evil, prosperity,
and essentially blessings. The Greek for saved is sozo and means to save, heal, preserve,
deliver from danger, and make whole. The Greek word for salvation is soteria which is related
to the word sozo. Now Soteria means deliverance, salvation, prosperity, welfare, preservation,
safety. You can gather up the complete definition of sozo and soteria and hopefully understand
that salvation is more than just being saved from your sins. Salvation refers to you being saved in
every way.
Ephesians 1:3 states, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Galatians 3:13 states,
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is
written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree) Now put those two verses together and
you come to the understanding that you have all of the blessings and none of the curses. You say
that sounds too good to be true, but it is because the love of God far exceeds what you can
conjure up. Meditate on those two verses and you will begin to truly understand what it means to
be a son of the Most High God. Go through every aspect of life, whether it be finances, health,
career or relationships, and know that you have the blessing and not the curse. Go through the
Bible and jot down all the blessings and realize that you have them.
I believe healing is so crucial to the Christian life, whether its walking in divine health
yourself or laying hands and healing others. Nobody likes to be sick because sickness brings
destruction, pain, and death. It makes it more difficult for the Christian to get to work if they
have illness debilitating them. It also makes the Christian look hypocritical if they are sick and
may disqualify their preaching (1 Corinthians 9:27). Sickness in the Christian also may create a
poor attitude and mindset: if you allow the Devil to start winning battles then he will most likely
gain momentum and win more battles.
As for laying hands, healing is an awesome way to preach the Gospel because sickness is
such a painful thing for the person and their family and friends. Supernatural healing provides a
great segue to preaching the Gospel to whoever was a witness. Nobody wants to be sick and
when that person receives healing from God their heart will be prime and ready to receive Christ.
Sickness is becoming more prevalent and is just going to get worse considering the health care
laws, GMOs, corrupted food and water supply, and pollution. America will soon be desperate
for healing and will have very little help from doctors (Some may agree this is already true, but it
will get worse.). It is more than necessary that every Christian understand their authority and
start exercising the ability to heal others.
Healing is something very near and dear to my heart. I am currently a medical student,
though I am currently taking a leave of absence and not planning on going back. I wanted to
become a physician because the health care industry was so corrupt and I knew there were better
healing methods supplied by God through nature. After a year and half in, I came to the full
understanding that there was an even better way to heal and that is by His stripes. Several years
ago I made a promise that I would care for patients in the same way I would want care. I would
put the interest of the patient first and change the paradigm of healthcare. I still hold true to that
promise but the mechanism has surely changed.
I made the decision to step away from medical school because it is obvious that
supernatural healing trumps physical or carnal healing any day. It was quite a decision, but I
would be a fool not to surrender to Gods will. I am sure that God has called me to heal many
and save lives. Proverbs 16:9 states, A mans heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his
steps. It is the Lord who will show us how to get from the starting line to the finish line.
I will put what I have learned into action by renewing my mind to this truth and healing
others. I will go to nursing homes, hospitals, and the street to pray for the sick. Faith comes by
hearing as well as seeing. I say seeing as well because Thomas didnt have faith until he saw. It
is important to keep hearing the truth and then seeing yourself in action doing it. If Jesus had to
suffer for sicknesses then we might as well give Him glory by sharing His sacrifice with as many
people as possible. The time is now to get started because the harvest is just going to get bigger
the more destructive this world becomes.
