Joe has performed on 3 Grammy Nominated and 2 Grammy Winning Albums:

In 1992, Joe recorded with McCoy Tyner on his album "The Turning Point".
It received a GRAMMY award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Performance.

In 1994, Joe again recorded with McCoy Tyner for the album entitled Journey'
It received a GRAMMY award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Performance.

Joe performed and wrote for three GRAMMY nominated albums:
Crossroads (1994), Pensativo (1995) and Firedance (1996)

Fort Apache was awarded Group of the Year by both Down Beat Magazine's Readers and Critics
Polls in 1995 and 1996.

Won the award for Best Jazz Group in Playboy Magazine's Readers Poll for 1997. (with Fort Apache)

In 1998 Fort Apache swept the Latin Jazz category at the New York Jazz Awards, winning both the
Industry and Journalist Polls.

In 1999, Fort Apache again swept the Critics and Readers Polls for Beyond Group of The Year in
Down Beat Magazine.
