2. A man is arrested for having pictures of children in a sexual manor on his Gmail account. It is not like they were having someone reading his mail or purposely looking out for these wrong pictures. Microsoft along with Gmail have a software called PhotoDNA this makes it easy for illegal images to be automatically identified on any computer program, and the thing is its all done by a computer program and not people. The PhotoDNA converts an image into black-and-white format and sizes the image. After each square had numerical values represented and it is able to be matched up with another picture that it has some comparison with. Microsoft has been able to team up with other group to stop child phonography though these accounts.
3. I ran the search for people who have been busted for having child porn threw Gmail. The first article I came across was from Reuters U.S edition and the title of the article is the dangers of deputizing Google to busts child pornographers the second article I came across about the same topic was from the Verge and the article states that Google scans everyones email for child porn, and it just got a man arrested. After reading all three articles I have made my choice that the third article is the one I would use because it gives a back ground of the man who is responsible for this act and a detailed back ground about Gmail and how they take the pictures and can sense when child pornography has occurred. Google and law enforcement can work together to catch these people so that these pictures dont get sent around.
4. TRAAP- The time it was written was August 5 th 2014 this is recent to when this happened and so I thought it was a good article to use for current news. It relates to the topic because it gives more detail of what happened to the man accused and charged with this unspeakable act. It helps to show how the web is trying to put a stop to this act. The article is By Jack Shafer, covers media for many columns including Washington city paper and he has a big say on mainstream media one of his biggest topics is war on drugs. I feel like he has knowledge on what he is speaking about and wants the people around him to be informed. I believe that the information I read was accurate because I read it from many sources, and it all has about the same information. The purpose is to inform us on the benefits that the webs had on people who do thing like send pictures of naked children over the internet, they are trying to show is what Gmail and Microsoft can do to prevent these thing from happening to these innocent children. 5. The key words I was able to were child pornography and the email addresses, with this I was able to get a few articles the articles I found talked about the after math of the victims after the person is caught doing this crime and it is very necessary because of the sites that were able to give these people up the young women who have had to deal with this can get the compensation they deserve. 6. Between the internet and the scholarly websites I thing I would use the internet I know that the danger is bias work and the fact that is it even a real article that is relevant, I think that if u can find Ingrida Kindred Assignment 1: Information Literacy 2
something on either use both and just try to back each one up I got great information on both so I would use both for a paper that had to deal with a topic to this extent.
