Ranjit Chandrasekhar
Current Position: Programme Leader
Target Position: Programme Manager, Mumbai
Recommendation:
I recommend that Ranjit be considered for the Mumbai PM post, with a 3 month transition from
the current role
Strengths
1 Project, Result oriented- Strives for excellence, Ambitious
2 Clarity of task, ability to communicate with team and win their confidence and respect
3 Supportive of team, willing to help them to do their job better
4 Huge hit with Gandhi Fellows and the demanding ones like Saransh, Abhishek, Snigdha
5 Ability to handle Partners well (Gunjan, UNICEF, Mukul, Ramya, Mckinsey)
6 Willing to explore within self "what do I want in life"?
7 Insatiable thirst for learning, growth
8 Has come a long way from being a binary IT guy (adapting well)
Weaknesses (in Ranjit and the proposition itself)
1 Can get dissatisfied easily with self
2 Need to learn to handle elder people and their emotions
3 Can burn out and might not want to continue all on a sudden
4 Not confident of dealing with MCGM
5 I don't yet know of his commitment for 3 years
6 The PLs may question Ranjit's elevation. Some may lose interest etc.
7 Unfold, Impact, Enjoy?

Mitigation
Has taken this feedback positively and willing to work on this
This is a hypo, and if we can help him discover "self", it wd help
This is both a skill and a personality issue. Willingness to learn and a
deep desire to learn new things can infact be a stimulant than a
negative
Will soon have a chat with him
Can't help. He stands head and shoulders above them.
This is my problem too; needs external help
