For a second year student Megan shows great initiative and work ethic. By continuing to develop her planning, teaching and assessment strategies, resource utilization, and management skills she will be an asset to any
school. She has the ability to build a positive rapport with all students with a kind but authoritative manner. She welcomes opportunities to be involved in extracurricular activities and should continue this as her future
students will benefit greatly. It was a pleasure to have Megan as a student teacher in our school and in the grade 7 classroom.

Megan had a very good rapport with the students and showed great dedication to planning and
assessing all lessons. She is doing well at modifying her lessons to suit the needs of IEP students and
should continue to develop this skill.

Megan was extremely positive with all students and did a wonderful job at reinforcing the positive
behavior of many students. She was quite good at circulating in the class and utilizing the proximity
management tool in order to promote on-task behavior. She is encouraged to avoid slang and
repetitive terms when communicating with the class (e.g. "guys") to help further exemplary verbal
communication skills with students
4.b) Professional Knowledge - Implementing and Assessing
Megan developed and utilized multiple assessment devices like rubrics, checklists, and marking
scales. She showed an excellent sense of pacing through her lessons and was extremely flexible in
lesson times changing to unscheduled periods. She was very good at using technology (PowerPoint)
in her lessons and should continue to develop this skill and make use of the interactive technologies
(Bright Links) that are present in all classrooms within the WCDSB.

Megan demonstrated solid knowledge of the curriculum by planning in various subjects including all of
the language strand, multiple math strands, and religion. She demonstrates a good awareness of
diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment. She is encouraged to continue to look for ways to
incorporate multiple learning strategies and assessment opportunities into her lessons.
