Self Evaluation and Peer ReviewENG 106

For self evaluation:

A. What is your thesis, and does it use one of the strategies we discussed in class?
How does it demonstrate critical thinking? In other words, what connections does it draw
between the two essays, as well as the different aspects youre comparing/contrasting.

B. Paragraph checklist: pick your strongest and weakest paragraphs. For each, answer the
questions below.

(Strongest)
1. What is the topic sentence, and how does it connect to or support the thesis?
2. What concrete details and quotations are drawn from the text, and how do they support the
topic sentence?
3. What points does your analysis draw from the details/quotations that you use?
4. Do you ultimately use the analysis to support your thesis? In what way?
5. Do you give a takeaway for the paragraph? How do you expect the reader to use the
takeaway to achieve the purpose of comparing/contrasting the two essays?
6. Does your final sentence or two use what youve said in the paragraph to support the thesis
while transitioning to the next paragraph? Explain how.
