Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs):

Psychomotor: SWBAT perform locomotor skills while either blindfolded or not
blindfolded with 90% accuracy.

Cognitive: SWBAT discuss the strategies they used to chase, flee, or dodge during the
activity by sharing an example they implemented, individually and as a class. Key words
for 4th grade students: chase, flee, and dodge, personal space

Affective: SWBAT effectively express their excitement and joy of the activity by facial
expressions: laughter, smiles, etc. they have on their faces.

Health-related: SWBAT recognize the physiological responses to exercise and will be
engaged in MVPA for at least 50% of the lesson time.
Instant Activity: 2 minutes

Quick Student Demonstration will take place.

Gather the Bugs
Students will be grouped into four separate teams. One (1) person at a time from each
group will go and collect one object that matches the same color as their team and bring
it back. The following individual will follow after and so on and so forth. Students will

Students will be introduced to the
activity. Student- Student
Demonstration will help students follow
the rules of the activity.

5-7 Minutes
Zombies vs. People:
There will be Chasers (Zombies) and
Fleers (People). The Zombies will be
blindfolded and the People will have
to WALK by them, quietly, without
getting tagged.

If the People are tagged they then
become Zombies and have to be
blindfolded. The teacher will be the ref
of the game.

Two (2) Finger Touch Rule will be
enforced.
Walk slowly and
try to be very quiet
so you dont wake
the zombies.
Tagges will be on
the Half court will
fleers will be on
the Base line.
5-7 Minutes
After the first round there will be new
Zombies and new People

Same Rules will be enforced by the
Ref.

2-3 Minutes
One (1) quick round will be done where
everyone is blindfolded (Zombies in the
night).

The Ref will still enforce all of the
Rules

















Closure: 4 minutes
Class will discuss the objectives of the day and strategies they used to implement
and work towards those objectives.

Class will discuss with their groups as to how they did then each group will step up
and present their tactics.

We will discuss what will be done for the next class period and how it will tie into
the same Lesson plan.


Assessment plan
In addition to the systematic observations that will assess motor differences, time spent in
physical activity; you should spend this session assessing the affective skills of your
students and cultural differences you may see emerge. Take notes on the following and
include in your reflection journal:
- What languages did you hear the students speak?
- Who did the students partner with if given a choice?
- During down time who did the students socialize with?
- Were the students able to work effectively and without conflict with their
partners/teams? If not, what factors seemed to be causing conflict?
