What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
To create my magazine many steps were involved. We started with planning which included
drawn annotations of what our magazine cover and contents page would look like. The next
step was using mobile phones to take recce pictures of the locations where we would later
on take the pictures for our magazine cover and contents page. We had also created a blog
on www.blogger.com and here I uploaded a picture of myself and the recce pictures that I
had took that day using a usb cable and a computer (pc). I used the blog to publish
information about the target audience that the magazine was aimed for and other things
like risk assessments and production schedules.
A few days later we went and took the pictures for our main image for the front cover and
contents using a camera and a usb cable and uploaded them using the same method as the
recce images. The next step was creating the magazine cover using Adobe Photoshop. Here I
learnt how to crop a picture to remove the background which I didnt use in my magazine,
which broke a code of convention. I also learnt how to add text, pictures and shapes etc. I
also learnt some of the advanced features and the techniques used like using shadow on
text to make it stand out and how the different layers are used to move the images and text
on the page.
Other software I have used is Prezi which I used to create a presentation where I evauluated
my work using code of conventions. Other software used was Microsoft word which is word
processing software.
