Lesson Plan: Advanced Riding: Defensive Riding


Learning outcomes are achieved if the learner can:
1. Describe what it means to be a defensive rider
2. Identify key elements of defensive riding
3. Ride through a simulated track demonstrating defensive riding techniques.
Lesson plan Defensive Riding
Introduction: his module introduces the student to the conce!t of defensive riding while drawing on knowledge and
skills learned from other modules. he student will learn about un!redictability and how sim!le techniques will hel!
them !re!are for riding defensively on the road. he module culminates in an obstacle course that draws on all of
the learning to date.
he !rogram is designed to sca"old learning while #tting in with the current curriculum and class time frames.
