Dear President Karolos Papoulias,
My name is Taylor and I am a citizen of your country. I have suffered greatly under the austerity
measures but I really, truly want the nation to economically succeed. I have lost new family
members to the rising infant mortality rate because millions of people have lost their health care.
Also friends of mine have been diagnosed with the HIV infection and lost many friends due to
suicide. I am writing you this letter to not only complain about my personal situation but to
inform you on a couple steps i think the government should take to help the nations economic
position. One way I think that could help us is tourism. Greece is a very known tourist spot
throughout Europe. Why not start making more ways for tourists to get to Greece? Try to get
Greece to be a destination on a cruise. More populations of people would be coming in more
frequently than regular tourists. Raise prices at gifts shops and taxes so then the tourists would
have to spend more money so that would give the economy a little more help. Another way to
help the nation is by lowering the minimum wage and have everyone being payed the same
especially in labor work. By lowering the pay, that makes more room to hire more people with
will bring the unemployment rate lower to help out the nations overall expenses. Start a new
health care system that is costly effective and also helpful to the economy.
