How far was the impact of colonialism similar in two countries you have studied?

The impact colonialism of America and Egypt was more different than similar. America
was colonised in the year 1607, it was called the thirteen colonies and in the beginning, it
wasn't colonised thought there were a lot of settlements. It began when Christopher
columbus was on a spanish expedition and discovered America. Therefore, the spanish
were the ones which first settled there and colonised most of the land because they were
the sponsors for Columbus' trip. This is why people now say that Spain was the first to
colonise America. The places where Spain had colonised are now some of the most
important countries of the USA. Following Spain was the Portuguese and they also
colonised a lot of land by just exploring, Britain tried to colonise America but failed to do so
in 1585 and attempted again in 1607 and finally managed to. Egypt was colonised in the
year 1882, the British wanted to stay in Egypt to make sure their finances were in order.
However, they stayed longer than that. During that time, the Egyptians were governed by
Lord Cromer (1883-1907), who successfully cleared up all the financial problems in Egypt
and managed to promote rail-ways, canal construction and managed to reform agriculture
practices. There is more difference than similar for example, the method of colonisation.

The method of colonisation was more different as America was first colonised in the year
1607 which is 275 years earlier than Egypt which was colonised in the year 1882 though
the both countries colonisation happened a long time ago. Both countries, America and
Egypt fought for freedom, Americas revolution started in 1775 while Egypts revolution
started in 1952. The Egyptians depended on the British longer as the british control was a
big benefit for to wealthy landowners in Egypt than the Americans did and hence that is
the reason why America is more developed than Egypt now. Another difference is the
economic impact.

The economic impact is also more different than similar although the colonisation helped
improve the economic problems in both countries America and Egypt. In America, Charter
Companies which were introduced by the europeans, they were groups of stockholders
(usually merchants and wealthy landowners) who sought personal economic gain and,
perhaps, wanted also to advance England's national goals. The british control was a big
benefit for to wealthy landowners in Egypt. And because British colonised other countries

as well, this also helped the business of the Egyptians. In fact, 90% of Egypt's large scale
business firms came from overseas. The colonisation did help improve the economic
problems in both countries America and Egypt, this shows that both the countries did have
an economic impact which improved the economy in both countries. However, the two
countries had a different type of impact. Although there are many differences, the Impact
on the Natives were pretty similar.

The British impacts on the Natives of America and Egypt were more similar than different.
When the British colonised America and Egypt, they introduces new religions in both
countries. In Egypt there was an increase in the number of Christians in and hence caused
conflicts between them and the Muslims. Also, the whites were given more privileges as
compared to the Egyptians. However, in America, the Church of England "church of the
state" The Pilgrims wanted the freedom to choose. Although there were a variety of
different "denominations" represented, all wanted to be free to worship God. Basically they
were given a choice to choose whether or not they wanted to become Christians. They
British also influenced the infrastructure of the countries, they helped develop Egypt and
lots of changes to their buildings, helped Egypt become developed country. As the leader
of Egypt accepted the new changes of the buildings and they also modernised the
infrastructure in America.

Overall, there are more differences than similarity in both countries America and Egypt.
The british helped Egypt a lot more than they did America. Though both countries wanted
freedom, they also needed the British at the same time as they helped with the economic,
introduced new knowledge like religions though in America, there was no conflicts
between religions because they were mostly given the choice to choose which religion
they wanted to be. Whereas in Egypt, they brought along Christianity which caused a
major problem considering the fact that some of the Muslims would not convert to
Christianity and helped develop the countries.
