Dear Mrs Purvis,

RE: Classroom Teacher Position (#1000607)

I wish to apply for the classroom teacher position (#1000607) that is currently available at Toora Primary
School as advertised on Recruitment Online. This year I will graduate from Monash University, Gippsland
with a Bachelor of Primary Education. Together I feel that my university studies, teaching experiences and
life experiences have allowed me to develop into a confident professional and I feel that I am absolutely
ready to begin the career that I have always desired.

I was inspired to apply for the position at Toora Primary School initially as it is my local school that I have
previously attended as a student, but also because of the welcoming atmosphere and great student
learning that I witnessed while spending a day in the school during term three. Following my visit I consider
that your school is certainly driving to the school motto of from the hills to the sea, being the best we can
be. I am impressed that Toora Primary School achieved a win in the Athletics carnival as it proves that all
students in your school are doing their best and also that the team of staff are ensuring that students feel
confident by providing an environment where students feel safe, challenged and willing to take risks.

Ultimately I would like to attain a job within this locality therefore the majority of my placement and
volunteering experiences have been completed in small schools within the area. From these experiences I
am aware and ready to take on extra responsibility and workload that is often required to ensure that small
schools remain efficient and operational. This also requires great relationships and communication within
the school community and I feel that I have already begun to develop relationships with staff, parents and
students from volunteering but also from my part-time job at the supermarket and involvement within the
community. I am also developing relationships with the wider school community and teacher network by
being an active participant within the Corner Inlet Learning Alliance. I am currently involved within the ICT
sector after attending meetings and implementing ideas as well as contributing feedback about my
experiences.

Enthusiasm, a commitment to be an active member of the school team and a selfless attitude are traits that
I will bring to Toora Primary School. I will be wholly committed to the students, the staff and the wider
school community and will always give my best and be proud of my involvement and contribution to the
school. I will eagerly continue on my learning journey and will always aim to continue to improve, however I
will never forget the joy and fun that school was to me, and should be for my students.

Enclosed are my curriculum vitae and response to the Selection Criteria, which together illustrate my
experience and particular skills. I look forward to the opportunity to further share my experiences and my
developing teaching practice during an interview. In addition to my application I have developed an online
portfolio to demonstrate my philosophy and document how I have met the teacher standards thus far. If you

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Williams
