Dear Bonnie N,

Project Community Computers has been bridging the digital divide in Milwaukee and around the
world since 2009. Jeff Hanson, recent MSOE graduate, has created Project: CC and is currently
working fulltime with Kiefer Stenseng, resent UW-Madison graduate.

Their mission is to open up new opportunities to impoverished people in Milwaukee, WI and
other communities, who have been left behind in technology. Project: CC have set up over 21
computer labs around the world. Seven computer labs are right here in Milwaukee with another
three in the outlying communities.

Between 2012 and 2013 Project: Community Computers have donated and set up over 90
computers in Milwaukee and around the world. Project Community Computers uses these
computers to set up permanent labs with schools, community centers, and religious
organizations. They also give the technology access to those in need.

Sincerely,

Morgan Ehlert

Project Community Computers: bridging the digital divide in Milwaukee and around the
world.

Milwaukee, WI -Since 2009 Project Community Computers has been bridging the digital divide
by building 21 computer labs and counting in Milwaukee and around the world. Their mission is
to open up new opportunities to impoverished people in Milwaukee, WI and other communities,
who have been left behind in technology. Project: Community Computers use what may seem
like outdated laptops and turns them into resources for individuals in need.

Many Milwaukee residents are Without computer access due to financial or educational
disadvantages. Project Community Computers has set up computer labs for the Riverwest food
pantry, Dominican Center for Women and many others in the community.

The majority of the projects are permanent labs with schools, community centers, and religious
organizations. Other projects involve giving technology access directly to those in need.

In addition, between 2012 and 2013 Project Community Computers has donated and set up over
90 computers in places like Kenya, China and Cameroon. Project Community Computers is
using donated computers and downloading free operating system Ubuntu software of them.

Only about 2 billion of the 7 billion people on our planet have internet access. There are roughly
30 million people do not have access to a computer. . In the United States 37 million tons of
electronics are thrown away because by current consumer standards they are considered
outdated. By donating computers instead of throwing them away these computers can become a
change in someones life.

Project Community Computers was originally a student organization from Milwaukee School of
Engineering and has since became an independent nonprofit. For more information please visit
