- TNTS was considered as the most ready and
was granted the authority to implement the
Post- secondary additional non- traditional
courses based on DECS Order No. 56, 59,
and
63, s. 1989.

1989 - Creation of Bureau of Technical- Vocational
Education (BTVE)

1995 Trifocalization Law, DECS was divided
into three agencies, namely: Deped, TESDA, and
CHED.
TNTS was under the supervision of TESDA.
More Tech-Voc programs were offered.

1998 - DECS-TESDA Joint Memorandum Circular
TNTS into the fold of DECS
Continue the Post-secondary operation through PTA
Proposed Conversion of Tagum National Trade
School into Tagum College of Arts and Trades





2008 Establishment of Tagum City Trade
School
(City Ordinance No. 85 s. 2008)

MOA- (DepED and LGU-Tagum City) which
allows TCTS to operate post-secondary
programs in the TNTS campus during late
afternoon, granting authority to utilize its
resources in terms of facilities, faculty and
staff.

Rationale

o DepEd Order No. 36, s. 2012, Guidelines on
the Implementation of the Senior High School
Modeling Program in the selected Technical-
Vocational Education and General Secondary
Schools Under the K to 12 Basic Education
Program

Senior High School Modeling Program is a
research and development activity.

12 Tech-Voc schools are identified to
implement SHSMP in SY 2012-2013






Criteria in the Selection of Model Schools:


1. Post secondary education;
2. Strong school-local industry partnership;
3. Available functional workshop laboratories;
4. Available qualified teachers; and
5. Established linkages with local higher education
institutions for possible recognition of
subjects units taken in senior high
(if and when the student chooses to continue
academic achievement)

while the fathers are laborers. But the good
thing is that the number of children only
averages to three (3) every family.

knowledge, skills and attitude in food and
beverage servicing in accordance with industry
standards. It covers core competencies on
cleaning bar areas, operating a bar, preparing and
mixing of cocktails, providing link between kitchen
and service areas, providing room service,
providing food and beverage service, developing
and updating of food and beverage knowledge
and providing wine services.

This course is designed to enhance the
knowledge, skills and desirable attitude in
processing foods by salting, curing, smoking,
fermentation and pickling; canning and bottling by
using sugar concentration. It covers the
preparation of equipment, tools, utensils, raw
materials and other ingredients, packaging and
preparation of production report.

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge,
skills and attitudes in automotive servicing in
accordance with industry standards. It covers
specialized competencies such as; perform gas and
diesel tune up, service automotive battery, service
ignition system, test and repair wiring/lighting
system, perform under chassis preventive
maintenance, perform shop maintenance, repair
charging and starting system, service engine
mechanical system, service and repair clutch
system, service and repair differential and front
axle, service steering system, overhaul manual
transmission, service brake system, and repair
suspension system.

This course is designed to enhance the

the field of motorcycle/small engine servicing in
accordance with industry standards. It covers
core competencies such as; performing
periodic maintenance; service carburetor and
fuel system; service lubricating system;
perform troubleshooting; service ignition
system; service and repair exhaust system;
service and repair suspension system;
service and repair brake system; service
wheels and tires; service clutch system;
service electrical system; service final drive;
and service and repair cooling system of
motorcycle/small engines.

This course is designed to equip the individual
the desirable attitudes and skills of the land
transport light vehicle driver in accordance with
industry standards, including the regulatory
requirements issued by appropriate regulatory
bodies, government and/or private. It covers the
following four core competencies: carry out
vehicle maintenance and servicing, drive light
vehicles, obey and observe traffic rules and
regulations and implement and coordinate
accident/emergency procedures.

accordance with international standards. It covers the
competencies required in preparing pipes for
installation, performing minor construction works,

This course is designed to enhance the

technical drafting such as; draft architectural
layout and details and prepare computer-aided

electrical and electronic layout and details, draft
sanitary plumbing layout and details, and draft
mechanical layout and details.

industry standards. It also includes common
competencies such as; use hand tools, perform
mensuration and calculation, prepare and interpret
