His Excellency Datuk Dr. Awang Adek Hussin Ambassador to
the United States
His Excellency Ambassador Awang Adek Hussin holds a Ph.D. in
Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of
Business. He has served as Deputy Finance Minister, Senator, Assistant
Governor of Central Bank of Malaysia, and in other notable positions.

His Excelleny Ambassador Awang will carry forward the work of Prime Minister Najib in
promoting for greater economic and business ties between Malaysia and the United States of
America.

Tan Sri Dr. (Ir) Mohamed Al Amin Abdul Majid, JP
Tan Sri Dr. (Ir) Mohamed Al Amin Bin Abdul Majid, JP qualified with a
Diploma in Technology from Oxford College of Further Education and also
holds a degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of
Aston, Birmingham, United Kingdom from which he was also conferred an
Honorary Doctorate Degree Doctor of Science.

He is also the Corporate Member of Institute of Engineers (IEM), Malaysia and a Professional
Engineer (PE).

Isham Ishak, Chief Operating Officer, SME Corp
Isham Ishak is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Small and
Medium Enterprise Corporation or SME Corp. As the COO, he is also
involved in the implementation, coordination and monitoring of the key
performance index of the Corporation, SME development programmes and
policy development. SME Corporation is one of the nine agencies under the
Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). SME Corp acts as the Central
Coordination Agency (CCA) coordinating SME related programmes of 15 Ministries and 60
agencies.
In addition to his responsibility as the COO at SME Corp, he is also the Deputy Chief
Negotiator in the TPP for Malaysia.







Ambassador Vinai Thummalapally, Executive Director,
SelectUSA
Ambassador Vinai Thummalapally serves as Executive Director of SelectUSA,
part of the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of
Commerce. Established by Executive Order of the President, SelectUSA
is the U.S. government-wide initiative to attract and retain business
investment in the United States. As Executive Director, Ambassador Thummalapally
manages the strategy and implementation of SelectUSA as it works to create jobs, spur
economic growth, and promote American competitiveness. He also co-chairs, with the
Director of the White House National Economic Council, the SelectUSA Interagency
Investment Working Group to coordinate existing resources across the federal government
to promote business investment and address federal regulatory barriers.

Jeyasigan Nair, Malaysia Investment Development Authority
(MIDA), Director, Chicago

Jeyasigan Nair serves as the Director of MIDA Chicago. He assists American
companies which intends to invest in the manufacturing, services,
biotechnology and, information and communication in Malaysia. Also, he
facilitates and advises investors on Malaysian government investment policies and incentives
for the States of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri,
North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Virginia Region
Secretary Maurice Jones, Secretary of Commerce and Trade,
State of Virginia
Maurice Jones was appointed Secretary of Commerce and Trade by Governor
Terry McAuliffe in January 2014. Previously, Jones served as Deputy
Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from
April 2012 through January 2014. As the second most senior official at HUD,
Jones managed the Department's day-to-day operations, the annual
operating budget, and the agency's 8,900 employees. Prior to HUD, Jones was President of
Pilot Media, the largest print and digital organization in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

M. Jeffrey Miller, Interim Deputy Mayor for Planning and
Economic Development, District of Columbia Government
M. Jeff Miller was appointed as the District of Columbias Interim Deputy
Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, where he is responsible for
implementing Mayor Vincent C. Grays vision for jobs and economic
development. As Interim Deputy Mayor, Miller heads the Office of the Deputy
Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), which is the Districts lead
agency in coordinating policies and initiatives with respect to affordable housing, business






attraction and retention, as well as workforce and economic development. The DMPED
portfolio includes a development pipeline worth more than $18 billion in public-private
housing, commercial office, retail, mixed-use and parks projects of all sizes interspersed
throughout the Districts neighborhoods.

Panel 3: Resources for Export Markets

Muhd Shahrulmiza Zakaria Trade Commissioner / Consul
(Trade) Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation
(MATRADE)
Mr. Zakaria is the Trade Commissioner/ Consul (Trade), based in MATRADE
New York Office since July 2012. He used to be the Trade Commissioner at
MATRADE Taipei Office, Taiwan ROC (2007-2011) and the Director of
MATRADE Northern Region Office in Penang, Malaysia (2004-2007). Mr. Zakaria served as
the Head of Electrical & Electronics (E&E), Information & Communications Technology
(ICT) Unit under Trade & Services Promotion Division at MATRADE Kuala Lumpur. He was
also involved in Trade Analysis, Planning & Strategy, e-Commerce and Trade Information
Management since he joined MATRADE in 2001.

Dennis R. Chrisbaum, Director, International Trade Finance,
Office of International Trade U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA)
Mr. Chrisbaum serves as Director of International Trade Finance for the U.S.
Small Business Administration (SBA). In that capacity, he oversees SBAs
export loan programs and the SBA staff who deliver those programs at U.S.
Export Assistance Centers (USEAC) throughout the country. USEACs combine the
international marketing resources of the U.S. Commercial Service and the trade finance
expertise of the SBA at 19 U.S. locations. Over the past four years, Mr. Chrisbaum also has
worked closely with the inter-agency Trade Promotion Coordinating Committees Small
Business Working Group in drafting recommendations to expand small business exports
under the Presidents National Export Initiative.
Justin J. Andrews, Investment Officer, Small & Medium
Enterprise Finance, Overseas Private Investment Corporation
Mr. Justin Andrews is an Investment Officer at the Overseas Private
Investment Corporation (OPIC) Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Finance
division in Washington, D.C. In this role, Mr. Andrews is responsible for
evaluating loan applications and for underwriting new development finance
projects specifically in the affordable housing and healthcare sectors. Prior to OPIC, Mr.
Andrews was a Presidential Management Fellow at the US Export-Import Bank. Before
entering government service, Mr. Andrews managed humanitarian projects in Africa and
Southeast Asia for Doctors Without Borders, and was an Investment Analyst at the boutique
hotel and real-estate group, Orient-Express, in New York.







Michael Jackson, Director of City/State Partners and Small
Business Training at the Export-Import Bank of the United States
(Ex-Im Bank)
Mr. Michael K. Jackson currently serves as the Director of City/State Partners
and Small Business Training at the Export-Import Bank of the United States
(Ex-Im Bank), an independent agency of the federal government. In this role,
he creates and manages strategic marketing partnerships with local, state, and regional
economic development organizations. He also facilitates product and marketing driven
training sessions and workshops on behalf of the agencys Small Business Group. In addition
to his role at Ex-Im Bank, Mr. Jackson is also an adjunct faculty member at Montgomery
College where he instructs a course on how small businesses can go global. He is a frequent
speaker at international trade seminars and conferences throughout the country.

Ms. Georgette Godwin, President & CEO, Montgomery County
Chamber of Commerce (MCCC)
Georgette "Gigi" Godwin has served as the President and CEO of the
Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) since 2007. The
Chamber is a business membership and advocacy organization with 500
members, 60 Board of Directors and 22 Advisory Board members. In 2014,
The Washington Business Journal ranked the Chamber #3 out of the Top 25
Business Organizations in the Washington, DC area. The Chambers mission is to help
members grow and to advocate for a vibrant regional economy. Gigis background includes
Federal government, non-profit, business & local community experience.
Andrew Yu, Business Development Manager for Fairfax County
Economic Development Authority (FCEDA)
Andrew Yu is a Business Development Manager for Fairfax County Economic
Development Authority (FCEDA) responsible for managing all the marketing
efforts in Asia. Prior to joining the FCEDA, he was a product marketing
manager at Freescale Semiconductor (a Motorola company) where his team
developed the 3G and 4g (LTE) mobile handsets. Mr. Yu also spent 7 years at a start-up
software development company where he managed corporate marketing activities and served
as the acting country manager in Korea and Asia regional business development
manager. Mr. Yu received his BS in International Business at Illinois State University, and
MBA in Marketing and Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,
Ohio. He lives in Clifton, VA with his wife and two kids.








Steven Hargan, Interim Business Development Officer, Loudoun
County Economic Development (LCED)
Having joined Loudoun's Department of Economic Development six years
ago, Steve Hargan is the department's interim business development officer.
In addition to heading up the department's business development team, he
focusses on the county's Federal Government Contractor and Aerospace
(FGC/Aero) cluster. Steve's background includes over twenty years of experience in the
aerospace and defense industry where he held positions in design and systems integration
engineering, program management, business development, strategic planning, and program
management. His background also includes several years of international business
development experience covering Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Steve earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy (1974),
held a Regular Army commission, Armor Branch, and subsequently served for over five years
in the United States Army.

Principal of Corporate Results Inc. along with being a Principal of

Technologies, LLC
Experience of Doing Business in the United States

Hari Chandra is President and CEO of Full Circle Technologies, a company
that produces a sustainable polymer modifier for asphalt pavements from
scrap tires with 4 US patents and product approvals from the State of
Floridas Department of Transportation. The company has secured its first round of funding
and currently expanding manufacturing base in Cleveland, Ohio.

Prior to Full Circle, Mr. Chandra was CEO of Quantum Polymer and Technical/ Market
Consultant for Goodyear/ Titan Tire Corporations construction, mining and farm tire
division. He was actively involved in new projects, sustainability programs, compound
designs, process controls and international sales.

The bilateral trade relationships between Malaysia and the United
States of America have existed ever since Malaysia gained its
independence in 1957. The testament of this long lasting
relationship is the ever expanding cooperation between the two
nations in creating a greater economic opportunities. The United
States of America is one of Malaysias significant trading partners
and source of foreign direct investments.
It is with great pleasure to invite you in the SME Conference 2014
themed Business Opportunities for Medium Size Companies in
Malaysia and the United States hosted at the at the Embassy of
Malaysia in Washington D.C. on October 15, 2014.
I truly believe this premier Conference will provide you with
valuable industry information in doing business in the Malaysia
and the United States. Since the inception, the Chamber has
undertaken significant initiatives to promote bilateral business.
Our nations have a long history of robust trade. In 2013, Malaysia
was 20th largest goods trading partner with United States. The
Goods exported totaled $13.0 billion and whereas, imports totaled
$27.3 billion.
The U.S. goods imports from Malaysia totaled $27.3 billion in 2013,
a 5.2% increase ($1.4 billion) from 2012, and up 7.3% from
2003. Whereas, U.S. imports from Malaysia account for 1.2% of
overall U.S. imports in 2013. The five largest import categories in
2013 were: Electrical Machinery ($14.8 billion), Machinery ($4.0
billion), Optic and Medical Instruments ($1.7 billion), Rubber ($1.4
billion), and Fats and Oils (palm oil) ($1.1 billion). Both Malaysia
and the United States are parties to the ongoing negotiations to
create a new trade agreement known as the Trans-Pacific
Partnership (TPP). We are foreseeing healthy trade growth in the
future.
We are committed to the prosperity of our nations and, on behalf
of Chamber members, will continue to advocate Fluid bilateral
exchange between Malaysia and the United States in promoting
small and medium-size enterprises to achieve their fullest
potential in the expansion of our economic and business
