Lesson Two
Stephanie presented a good lesson on the three sounds ed makes at the end of
words. She connected this lesson to one she had seen presented to the class for
ing previously. She gave a good eplanation of what would happen during the
lesson. Stephanie!s voice was calm and had a good tone while talking with the
students.
She involved the students in the lesson "y having them manipulate the
activ"oard. Stephanie asked the students good #uestions to get them to
epand on their answers. $er pro%ect for the students to demonstrate
understanding worked well. She allowed students to work together and help
each other. She validated their efforts and acknowledged those working well.
When they came "ack together as a group she had them "ring their papers
with them which turned out to "e a "it of a distraction for them She did not let
this "other "ut instead continued with the rest of the lesson. The same is true
for an earlier part of the lesson with the active"oard. &art of the lesson did not
show up on the "oard "ut she rolled with it and adapted as she continued with
the lesson.
Stephanie was a"le to redirect a few students that needed it.
'ne suggestion is that the students work together at their ta"les on one sheet
as opposed to all students having their own sheet to complete.
Stephanie seems most comforta"le while presenting a lesson and her approach
is very natural and relaed.
