ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE NOTES

1

Cerner Registration & Scheduling Implementation Projects include experience in Revenue Cycle design,
build, implementation and maintenance and creation of Cerner Millennium Registration Conversations.
Here are a few supplemental experience notes.
Requirements Definition:
Experience documenting Registration Data Collection Workbook (DCW)
In the Registration portion of the DCW, I outlined four conversations for the Ambulatory project:
o Add & Modify Patient via Registration and Add & Modify Visit
For the conversation design and built I defined
o Groupings and header labels, prompt description and labels
o Required, recommended or display only fields
o Code set details from WIN32
o Defaults needed in Revenue Cycle
Conversation creation and maintenance:
In WIN32/Cerner Millennium I used pmdbconv:
To create conversations for the University based clinics of Sickle Cell, Transplant and the
Methodist Teaching Practice. I did this in Mock, tested it and had the client test it, then moved it
over to Prod
o The Ambulatory Clinic Full Registration was created because the acute side Full
Registration conversation was set up differently. The Facility and Nurse\Ambulatory Unit
were located together and the Building field was located at the bottom of the Clinical
Info tab. The set up for the MTP clinic had each location separated by building so I
moved it up to where it logically made sense. And so it would not interrupt the workflow
on the acute side the additional conversation was needed.
o In WIN32 I created the AMB Clinic Phone Consult conversation so that clinicians could
record data in PowerChart without a Scheduled Visit. They would click the Add Visit
button and the Visit Details tab. Select the Facility, Service, Date and Physician.
o In Revenue Cycle we added a Service field for users to create a standalone visit
o During Go Live support at the Call Center, I realized how important these two
conversations were to their work flow
To modify conversation rules.
I also created a rules repository with hyperlinks so that IT could see at a glance where a specific rule
was when it needed to be changed. There are tabs for Start, Finish and each interfield rule tied to a
specific field.

Used discernvisualdeveloper to run the eem_maint prompt program to add payers to Eligibility
I developed a training guide for IT staff with the three step process:
1. Modify the Organization Association for RCA Clinics to add the NPI using Bedrock
2. Link Health Plans to Insurance Companies in Bedrock. I worked with our core team
to obtain the 5-digit payer ID which I provided to Cerner. They in turn provided us with a
CERN ID which was an NAIC code. We needed this code to complete the last step.
3. Run prompt program: discernvisual developer, eem_maint. Obtain user/passkeys
from Cerners financial hub. Select the Facility and all of the Insurances that have the
CERN ID association created. Each Facility has to be individually processed because
they are set up as separate facilities/orgs. There were close to 70 facilities going live.
Organized and coordinated a team of people to enter payers in the system.
In-class Training, Go Live Implementation, Subject Matter Expertise:
Created technical documentation and provided in class training:
IT maintenance training Revenue Cycle Registration and Millennium Registration and Scheduling
The Insurance Eligibility tool
New hire orientation
At the elbow support
Worked closely with the Education & Training department to make sure the front end users had the
information they needed to use the system for Registration and Scheduling. ELearning was modeled after
my documentation and processes.
Developed Unit Test Scripts and worked closely with the Testing Coordinators for testing events.
Organized a team of people educated and delegated creation of 100s of Mock test registrations,
scheduled them and then entered charges. This was done for verification of the interface to GEs
billing system. The acute side uses Legacy.
I created a Macro Express Pro script to generate over 4,000 registrations on over 40 computers for
another client with similar needs.
Go Live Support
Provided Call Center and physician practice go live support at recent clients. I have experience in the
hospital setting and at ancillary sites as well: Admissions, Prearrival, Verification, Lab, Radiology, OP
Chemo, PT/OT, E/R, and Med Centers.
I documented over 100 Project Issues on MethodM for Registration and Scheduling Management and
worked closely with Cerner to develop solutions and any work around to the issues.
I placed and worked Remedy tickets during Go Live. I communicated with education leadership and
other clinical areas the common issues that users were experiencing with the applications, and developed
work around material as needed with the modifications/enhancements.
