OPERATION PHILOSOPHY FOR FIRE HYDRANT SYSTEM:
The hydrant system is a pressurized system and the pipe network is kept
pressurized by way of an automatic pumping system.
The entire system is provided with PLC based control and annunciation
panel . Whenever there is a pressure drop in the hydrant network due to
minor leakage below the frst pre-set pressure sensed by pressure switch
(PS-1)jockey pump will start and stops when the pressure becomes
normal.

The main motor operated pump sets turns on when the pressure in the
system drastically falls beyond second preset pressure sensed by
pressure switch(PS-2) due to the opening of hydrant valve. The logic in
the PLC ensures that the jokey pumps are stopped after the main pump
set goes on.
When the pressure in the system drastically falls beyond third set point
sensed by pressure switch (PS-3) due to power failure or fails to start of
main motor operated pump then the stand by diesel engine driven pump
will start to cater the requirement.
After extinguishing the fre, the motor driven/diesel engine pump will be
stopped manually from fre water pump house. The system will again be
kept ready by jokey pump.
