HISTORY OF FILM

TRAILERS
A FILM TRAILER IS
A form of advertisement or even a commercial in which the audience
are shown as a preview of a film, in preparation of future screenings.
Adding to this, the film trailer is a part of the marketing stage in film
production.
As this is watched before a film is released, this is essentially where the
audience decide whether or not it is worth watching the film once placed
in cinemas/theatres.
HOW LONG DOES A FI LM TRAI LER
LAST?
There are two kinds of trailers that the audience can view, this is a teaser trailer and a
film trailer. For teaser trailers, the aim is to entice the audience with the contents of the
film. The contents are put in a shorter form of a film trailer, more or so like a montage.
Teaser trailers have the duration of 0:30 to 1:00, the content is usually condensed and
showing a key dramatic scene from the film.
For film trailers, the intention is to get the audience ecstatic for the films release date.
The trailer would usually be shown on either advertisements online or on television. The
duration would fall between 2:00 to 2:30.
