PERSONAL COACHING STATEMENT
My current VISION of and STRENGTHS as an instructional technology coach is to assist other teachers in my department and discipline area (Health Sciences)
to explore how they can become a facilitator of learning in their classroom.

Unit One

Coaching | Stewarding
the Future in Digital

OUTLINE how you will
engage in effective
communication and
collaboration with
those you coach .

1) Begin offering
short tech sessions
once a month on
the technology
byte that the tech
lit team is working
on.
To prepare for the session I need to be
knowledgeable on how to use the
technology tool. I need to be able to
identify ways that the tool might be
used both by the teacher and the
students.
I understand that I need to have
expertise but not act as THE
expert. I need to be able to craft
questions that will lead others to
explore more about what they
need answers to.
One way to evaluate progress is to
identify how many teachers begin to
explore new tech tools.

I need to identify simple, short ways to
plant small seeds in the minds of other
teachers in my department.
I have used Animoto in my class
this week as a review tool for
students. The structure of the
assignment allows for students to
be creative, collaborate,
communicate (with each other
and myself as a teacher) and
think critically about what they
have learned so far in the HS2
course.
The number of technology activities
that I introduce from the tech lit
team and how many times a teacher
or teachers use the tool.

Examples always help me to understand application. So it would be nice to find resources that show examples that I can relate to since I am a CTE teacher.

BRAINSTORM how you
will incorporate and

Citizenship in order to
begin to build/

digital innovation.


I would look at different components
for Digital Citizenship and determine
how I would approach the topic with
my students.
I think I would do the same
activity with students using a
Google search for their name. I
want to explore more about the
topic so I could develop a short
unit about Digital Citizenship
aimed towards students.
I would need to keep copies of
articles that I might use with
students. I also would have a unit
that I developed with activities.

I think just beginning to realize the depth of responsibility regarding digital citizenship.

I would identify a set of rubrics
that might be used by other
teachers.
I like the idea of developing a
spreadsheet that answers the
questions for a selected rubric for
exploring the pros/cons of
selected technology tools
Identify teachers that might be using
certain tools and then show them
what those tools are able to do
beyone what they are using them for.

I have really begun to understand how to effectively evaluate technology tools.





PERSONAL Coaching Statement REVISITED | How has your personal coaching vision evolved from your initial thoughts in Week/Unit One?

My coaching statement has remained the same. But my vision of how I need to proceed with coaching digital technology use has expanded exponentially. I have gotten a lot of
ideas of how to approach people and how to model ideas without being forceful. Sometimes our best salesmen for new technology uses are our students.
