Abstract
The Nigerian government has joined the global trend in exploring the potentials that abounds in
entrepreneurship education, particularly in tackling graduate unemployment in the country. The aim of
this paper is to dwell on the significance of entrepreneurship education in tertiary institution and its
multiplier tendency on the creation of jobs. The study postulated that effective entrepreneurship education
could enhance graduate intention to create their own business. The study recommended that teaching of
entrepreneurship should not only be a class room concept only, but an integration of mentoring ,field trip,
student business plan competition, interaction with failed and successful entrepreneurs are essential for
the development of a robust entrepreneurship education.
