Student Learning Aims (using Blooms Taxonomy and e5 pedagogy)

- To discuss what we have learned from the previous game.
- To describe how to make up a certain amount using coins only.
- To display the ability of working in a team and make up as many ways as they can.
- To create their own way to present the learning outcomes on a big piece of paper.
- To conclude what they have learned from this activity.
- To develop the ability to use the least coins to make the certain amount.

Cross Curriculum Priority: Art, Children will be able to display their answer in drawing or sketching.

*NOTE: In the previous class, students learnt about how to make up one dollar using different coins. They have made up one dollar using
certain number of coins.

- ENGAGE (stimulate interest and curiosity; elicit prior knowledge; connect to past learning experiences; develop shared expectations)

to buy chocolate last night, I only had
coins with me. The chocolate was
5.95$, how can I pay for it?

Activity Goal Time Grouping Focus Anticipated Problems
Each group has its set amount, children
work as a team to put on as many ways
as possible to make up the amount by
using coins.
Then when time is up, rotate to the next
table.
Efficiently make up
the amount, and
create as many ways
as they can as a
group.
