The barangay is not principally a political unit. It is more of a socio-economic
community, a settlement among relatives by blood and affinity, and a mutual help among barangay member called bayanihan. The bayanihan spirit characterized by the people having similar goals, interests, and aspirations, get together and barangays called themselves confederation of barangays.(Almira Cruz Sison (2002), Barangay Projects and Financial Management of Ilagan, Isabela (Thesis) p.28)
Significance of the Study
The research paper would serve as a guide to any government and non- government organization in the planning and decision as to which programs and projects should be manage effectively.
It would be beneficial to the barangay leaders of the aforesaid barangay to have knowledge of the issues and concerns of the residents and address such.
It would provide readers (specially SLU-SABM students) knowledge as to how barangay projects are implemented and managed.
It would serve as reference for students taking up similar subject in their course.
It would serve as instrument of communication between the residents and the barangay leaders.----- not so sure hahaha
