Success Criteria: -students will be assessed on the effort they put into their research and how well they use their time.
VELS: Strands, Domain, Foci and Standards Literacy researching ICT use Location / Setting Students come to the textiles room and move to the computer lab as a group.
Single period after recess 50mins
Organisation / Student Groups Students arrive in the textiles room and wait for instructions. Focus to the front to receive information and paperwork before walking as a group to the computer lab. Quiet individual work while in the computer lab. Students to be dismissed from there. Classroom management strategy Encourage students to be on task by making constant suggestions of what they can do. Distract students with productive work, rather than telling them to stop any off task behaviour. Give clear directions about who is to do each task and what they need to do when we move to the alternate tasks. As class come in from recess, ask them to take a seat and wait for the rest of the class allow students to talk and have a chat to them while they are waiting. Mark roll and call for focus to the front.
Introduce Australian Designer Assignment Due on Friday of week 9 students hand it in by uploading it to the Shared Drive (location is on assessment outline sheet)
Go over requirements of assignment
Explain the purpose of spending the rest of the lesson in the computer lab; that it meets the first criteria on their rubric. They need to research several Australian designers before choosing one whos life and work inspire them, and I will be taking notes on how well they use this time, and how many designers they look into.
Remind students of appropriate behaviour for working in the computer lab.

Walk over to computer lab with students; take rag-trade mags with us.
Students research some Australian designers on computers and magazines.
I make notes about how much effort students are putting into their research.
Monitor/ supervise students appropriate use of computers at all times.
Suggest things for students to look into and provide inspiration. Point out element students may be inspired by, or that they may have missed.

Students to save their work and shut down computers. Talk to them about what they have found out and where they think they could find more information.
Clarify that they understand the assignment and due date before dismissing students.
