Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello and welcome to sixth grade!

My name is Carlos Manrriquez I am a native of the great state of Texas and feel honored to be
your childs History teacher this year! This is my first year teaching at Copperas Cove Middle
School. I have heard great things about our school and children and look forward to our
wonderful school year. I earned my degree in Asian and Computer Studies from the University
of Maryland University College, Adelphi Maryland in the Fall of 2009. After retiring from the
U.S. Military I worked for L3 Communications, Tampa Florida where I managed several
communications systems, and my love of teaching grew.

This year will be challenging for our sixth graders as they transition into a new school. However,
I will endeavor to make History fun, exciting and rewarding for your child. I plan to create a
classroom atmosphere of positive energy, hard work, and respect. In the next couple of days you
will be receiving a copy of my classroom management plan along with a copy of our agenda. I
ask for your support throughout the school year so that your child may succeed and learn to love
History.

There will be a weekly progress report that goes out on Friday afternoons. Should your child fall
behind I will be available for tutorials from 7:30 08:30 am and 3:50 4:30 pm daily. I am
available for conferences between the hours of 2:00 2:30 pm Monday thru Friday and 3:50 -
4:20 pm Monday thru Thursday. I can be reached via the Copperas Cove Middle School front
office at 555-5555 by leaving a message or via e-mail at carlos.manrriquez@ccisd to set up an
appointment.

I thank you for your time. I look forward to having an excellent rapport with you. Please feel
free to contact me regarding your child at the above listed contacts as often as you would like.

Respectfully,

Carlos Manrriquez
