We already know how to change ___________ verbs to match the person we’re talking about (we can also

change _________________, but it is irregular so we don’t include it with normal verbs). The first thing

we do is __________________. After we do that, we _______________________________ like so:

yo nosotros
tú vosotros – áis
él/ella/usted ellos/ellas/ustedes

Changing a verb like this is really useful. The first couple of letters (what we have after we take off the
ending) lets us know what action is being done. The last couple of letters lets us know who is doing the action
without an adverb telling us that information.

Since we can already change –ar verbs, changing –er verbs is easy! Basically all of the a’s become
_____________.
yo nosotros
tú vosotros – éis
él/ella/usted ellos/ellas/ustedes

Step 1: take off the endings for the following verbs

comer ________________ beber ________________ volver ________________ correr __________________

vender ________________ comprender ____________________ leer ________________ ver ____________

OJO! Ver is a normal –er verb except in the yo form  we say veo instead of the normal conjugation.

Step 2: determine the endings that match the following people for –er verbs

tú _________________ nosotros _________________ yo _________________ Aaron _________________

Malik _____________Keneyce y yo ______________ April y Monica ____________ usted ______________

Adrian y sus amigos ______________ Alexas _________________ tú y tus amigos ____________________

Now put it all together: make the following verbs match the people listed.
comer  tú __________________ beber  ellos ________________ leer  nosotros ___________________

comprender  yo _________________ ver  ella ________________ vender  usted __________________

beber  Julian y yo ________________ correr  Antonio y Chris _______________ ver  yo

____________

Vocabulary  write the translation for the following foods and then circle comer or beber for the verb you use

Orange juice _______________________________________ comer beber

Toast _____________________________________________ comer beber

Bacon and eggs _____________________________________ comer beber

Turkey sandwich ____________________________________ comer beber

Cereal with milk _____________________________________ comer beber

Now let’s put it all together. Translate the sentences. Make sure the verbs match the people they’re talking
about.
