CELL STRUCTURE

AND LIFE
COMPARISON
PHU LE
PER 2

PLASMA
MEMBRANE
- Selectively permeable to ions
and organic molecules and
controls the movement of
substances in and out of cells.
The basic function of the cell
membrane is to protect the cell
from its surroundings. It
consists of the phospholipid
bilayer with embedded
proteins.
The cell plasma membrane can be
compare to the amusement park gate
which only let people go in that have all
the requirements like having a permission
ticket
NUCLEUS
-Maintaining the integrity of
these genes and to control the
activities of the cell by
regulating gene expression
the nucleus is therefore the
control center of the cell.
For nucleus it can compare to
the information booth at the
amusement park.
RIBOSOMES
-Ribosomes link amino acids
together in the order specified
by messenger RNA (mRNA)
molecules. Ribosomes consist
of two major components
the small ribosomal subunit
which reads the RNA, and the
large subunit which joins
amino acids to form a
polypeptide chain.
Ribosome can be compare to the food
stands because it provide food and drink that
was instructed by the park managers
CYTOPLASM
It is made up of mostly water
and salt. Cytoplasm is present
within the cell membrane of all
cell types and contains all
organelles and cell parts.
Cytoplasm can compare the
grounds where all the rides are
located at the park.
MITOCHONDRIA
A membrane-bound organelle
found in the cytoplasm of
almost all eukaryotic cells
(cells with clearly defined
nuclei), the primary function of
which is to generate large
quantities of energy in the form
of adenosine triphosphate
(ATP).
Mitochondria is related to the power plant
of the park which provides energy for all
the rides and the lights at the amusement
park like mitochondria giving energy for all
organelle needs.
CHLOROPLAST
Chloroplasts are organelles
found in plant cells and
eukaryotic algae that
conduct photosynthesis.
Chloroplasts absorb sunlight
and use it in conjunction with
water and carbon dioxide gas
to produce food for the plant.
The chloroplast can be compare to the park
workers who gives their energy to keep the
amusement park working. So the
amusement can work on its with the park
worker help to do that
CELL WALL
Cells come in many different
shapes and have
different functions. Plant and
animal cells are different too.
The main difference between
plant and animal cells is that
plant cells have a cell wall on
the outer layer, whereas
animal cells only have
a cell membrane.

Cell wall can be compared to the fences of
the amusement park.
ROUGH ER
Rough ER is found throughout
the cell but the density is
higher near the nucleus and
the Golgi apparatus.
Ribosomes on the rough
endoplasmic reticulum are
called membrane bound and
are responsible for the
assembly of many proteins.

The rough ER can be compare to the
transportation carts which gives people
ride whatever part of the amusement park
they wanted to go
SMOOTH ER
The smooth endoplasmic
reticulum (abbreviated SER)
has functionsin several
metabolic processes. It
synthesizes lipids,
phospholipids, and steroids.
Cells which secrete these
products, such as those in the
testes, ovaries, and skin oil
glands have a great deal
of smooth endoplasmic
reticulum.

The smooth ER can compare to the
pathways in the amusement park which let
the people inside the park to follow these
paths to arrive to where ever they want to
go
GOLGI
A major function is the modifying,
sorting and packaging of proteins
for secretion. It is also involved in
the transport of lipids around the
cell, and the creation of
lysosomes. The sacs or folds of
the Golgi apparatus are called
cisternae.
This can be compare to the gift
shop at the amusement park
where they package up that are
purchased by the people.

VACUOLE
Isolating materials that might be
harmful or a threat to the cell.
Containing waste products.
Containing water in plant cells.
Maintaining internal hydrostatic
pressure or turgor within the cell.
Maintaining an acidic internal pH.
Containing small molecules.
Exporting unwanted substances from
the cell. Allows plants to support
structures such as leaves and
flowers due to the pressure of the
central vacuole. In seeds, stored
proteins needed for germination are
kept in 'protein bodies', which are
modified vacuoles.

The vacuole can be compared to the
maintenance crew of the amusement park
which keep the park clean and in shape
for the customers just like vacuole helps
keeping its shape
VESICLE
In cell biology, a vesicle is a small
organelle within a cell, consisting
of fluid enclosed by a lipid bilayer
membrane. Vesicles can form
naturally, for example, during the
processes of secretion
(exocytosis), uptake
(phagocytosis and endocytosis)
and transport of materials within
the cytoplasm.
Vesicle can be compared to the
office because when needed it
will send out a maintenance
worker out to help clean or
something.

LYSOSOME
Inside a cell, numerous
organelles function to remove
wastes. One of the key
organelles involved in digestion
and waste removal is
the lysosome. Lysosomes are
organelles that contain digestive
enzymes. They digest excess or
worn out organelles, food
particles, and engulfed viruses or
bacteria.
Lysosome can be compared to
the trash and recycle bins
because this is where all the
excess and waste can be put in.
And by recycling the trash it is put
through a process like digestive
enzymes

CENTRIOLE
A centriole is a small set of
microtubules arranged in a specific
way. There are nine groups of
microtubules. When two centrioles
are found next to each other, they
are usually at right angles. The
centrioles are found in pairs and
move towards the poles (opposite
ends) of the nucleus when it is time
for cell division.
Centriole can be compared to the rail
of the roller coaster because without
the support of the rail the ride cant
function and fun enough

MICROTUBULES
Beyond the role they play in
internal cell
movement, microtubules also
work together to form larger
structures that work on the
outside of the cells. They can
combine in very specific
arrangements to form cilia and
flagella.
Microtubules can be compared to
the warning sign of some rides
that is under maintenance.
