I am a fully licensed history teacher with thirteen years of classroom experience. I have seven years experience teaching at
an IB world school located in Hong Kong, inclusive of DP History, MYP Humanities and TOK. I am currently a TOK
Coordinator. I hold a Masters Degree in History and am a graduate of the Secondary Teacher Education Program at the
University of Massachusetts. I am passionate about photography, athletics, and travel. I am originally from Boston, but
currently reside in Hong Kong with my wife and two children.
PROFESSI ONAL STATEMENT
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher focussed on developing the knowledge and critical thinking skills of my students. I
strive to help my students become more aware of the world around them and guide them to become more active, empathic,
and just people. I also push them to succeed academically in the IB Program. In the classroom, I consistently and effectively
use technology. I stress academic honesty, good research skills, source analysis skills, and communication and debating
skills. I differentiate instruction, focus on student centered inquiry based activities, effectively use formative assessments, and
consistently tailor resources to better match the abilities of the students.
