Assignment Learning Objective
After reading the assigned text book assignment and researching the Internet for appropriate articles,
students will be able to design a concept map using Popplet that illustrates the various classes of fire
extinguishers available in industry, and indicate what type of fire (materials) that each class extinguisher
is used for. Students will be assessed by the instructor using a rubric developed for this assignment by
the instructor, with the rubric being presented to the students prior to the assignment.
Assignment Grading Criteria
Students will receive one point for each correct fire extinguisher class described:
Points available-5
Students will receive one point for each material evaluation per fire extinguisher class:
Points available-25 (five points for each of the five classes)
Students will receive points ranging from zero to five for their concept map design; point value times
four
Points available 20; five point times four
Total points available-50
Assignment Grading Scale
A=50 to 46 points
B=44 to 40 points
C=39 to 36 points
D=35 to 30 points
F=below 30 points
