Dear Parents,
I cannot believe it is already November. I guess time really does fly
when youre having fun! As of Friday, we have officially reached the end of the
first quarter of school and are beginning the 2
nd
quarter. With the beginning of
a new quarter, comes the opportunity for a fresh start. Grades are reset and
your student has the opportunity to make the best of it. If the first quarter was
not as successful as desired, now is the chance to push forward and start on
the right foot. Help your child to succeed this corner by following up with their
homework, having conversations about what is happening in class, and taking
the time to read with them at home. Last week I sent home information about
the importance of reading at home and will be sending home information
about some strategies you can use to do so this week. If you dont have
reading materials at home, youre in luck! Our scholastic book fair is
happening this week in the gym and will be open during parent teacher
conferences after school on Thursday and Friday, as well as during recess Monday through Wednesday. I will
also be sending home a new scholastic book order form next week for the month of November.
Last week in class the students started working on their muscular system group project of creating a
song and dance to demonstrate their knowledge of the different types of muscles, how they work, where
they are, and what they do. They will be performing their songs at the end of this week, while we
simultaneously move forward to learning about the skeletal system. We kicked off this new focus by creating
symmetrical name are skeletons on Friday that we will be finishing up and displaying this week. In both 4
th

and 5
th
grade math we are finishing up Chapter two and getting ready to move on to chapter 3 this week. We
are also nearing the end of our book Wonder and will be doing some reading focus assignments in reference
to this book as we finish up. Our class is in charge of school masses this month so we will be really working on
discussing the parts of the mass and their importance as we prepare to lead the school on Tuesday
afternoons.
In order to best prepare for conferences this week I am also sending home a questionnaire for you to
fill out and return to me as soon as possible so we can make the best of our 15 minutes this week. I hope you
have a wonderful week and enjoy this transition
into November.

Thank You, and God Bless,

Ms. Krisman
