Title: My Hobbies (Free Time)

MY HOBBIES

LESSON 1

Task 1:

What can you see?


The teacher gets a flashcard and students have to look and say what they can see.

Task 2:

Look and find. Students have to listen the CD player and they have to find who is realizing a determined action.
Listen, point and say. Students have to listen the CD player and point what are they doing? Then, they have to repeat the sentences.

Task 3:

Game with the dice. Students have to cut out a dice, following the instructions indicated in the worksheet. Then they have to throw it,
look what picture it is and say what he/she or they are doing.

Task 4:

Read, choose and write the correct picture.Students have to select the correct picture for that they will circle the image that maches
the reading. Then they have to write the correct sentence on the line.
Match each word to the correct picture. Students have to join with a line each word to the correct picture.

Task 5:

Circle the correct word and write it. Students have to draw a circle, selecting the correct word. Then they have to write it on the line
below.
Bingo about hobbies. Students have to game a bingo to review the vocabulary learnt.
Task 6:

Guessing game. This activity is the same that task 1, but the teacher says what they can see and students only repeat.

LESSON 2

Task 1:

True or False. We have to use the flashcards. We stick them on the blackboard. We write a word beside each one of them. These can
be correct or incorrect and students have to say if they are true or false. For example:
We have a flashcard of play cards and beside it we have written “collect things”. Students have to say if it is true or false.

Task 2:

Listen and repeat. Students have to listen the CD player and they have to repeat the names of different hobbies.
Word scramble. Students have to put in order the letters in order to get the correct word.

Task 3:

Make games. Do you like...? Students have to answer the questions. Yes, I do/ No, I do not. Then they have to look for in the labyrinth
each one of his/ her hobbies which they have chosen (yes, I do).

Task 4:

Resolve the following crossword. Students have to resolve the crossword.

Task 5:

Writing/ Tracing. Students have to trace each word on the line.


Galactic challenge. It is a board game. Students are divided in groups of five. Teacher explains how to play and read the rules and
students start to game while the teacher is observing and helping to pupils.
Task 6:

Write the names of your favourite hobbies. Students have to write what hobbies are his/her favourite.

LESSON 3

Task 1:

Draw and colour the hobbies which you are practising recently. Students have to draw his/her hobbies and colour them.

Task 2:

Look and describe: We show the students the flashcards “The hobbies” and they have to tell us what hobbies they can see in it.
Hobbies flashcards, pointing game. The teacher show the flashcards and say the name of hobbies. Then the teacher name some
hobbies and students have to point what it is?

Task 3:

Memmory game. Put different flashcards of hobbies upside down on the floor, they have to be repeated (two equal flashcards of the
same hobby). Students, one by one, choose a flashcard, put it face up and say the word. Then they choose another flashcard and say
that word. The teacher ask, “are they the same or different?” If this two flashcards are the same, children get that pair. If they are
different, they are put upside down in the same place.

Task 4:

Make this hobbies word search. Students have to find the words from the list.
Ask a friend. Students in pairs have to make a dialogue, asking if she or he (refered to other classmates) is or is not doing a
determined action. For example: A- Is she doing a puzzle?
B- No, she is not.
A- Is he paint a picture?
B- Yes, he is.
Task 5:

Racetrack. It is a board game. Students have to throw a die and try to get the finish.

Task 6:

Picture Dictionary. Students have to copy on their notebook the words appeared in the present unit.

LESSON 4

Create a big poster. During all this unit we have to ask our students to compile pictures about hobbies. Then it will be easier to create
the big poster with all the pictures which students have got.
