exocrineglands.Itsmainfunctionistoprotectfromdiversedamagefromtheoutside.There
arevariousfunctionsoftheintegumentarysystem,mainlytheyinvolvedinpreservationof
yourbodyandmaintainingtherateofyourbodysinternalfunctionsinavarietyofways.The
integumentarysystemconsistofthreelayers.Theoutermostlayeristheepidermiswhichis
madeupofkeratinocytesandmelanocytes.Itsfunctionistoprotecttheinnerorgans,give
theskinitscolor,helpspreventbacteriagettingin.Thenextlayerwhichisalsothickisthe
dermismadeupoffibrousandelastictissue.Itsfunctionistogivetheskinflexibilityand
strengthwhilealsoprovidingtheskinwithhair.Thelastandinnermostlayeristhe
hypodermisalsoknownassubcutaneouslayer.Itsmainfunctionistoregulatethebody
temperatureandtostoreenergy.
