From the Teachers Desk

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES have been in session since September. If you
have yet to schedule a conference or have missed the date of your originally set
conference, please make arrangements to meet with your childs teacher ASAP. It is
imperative that we meet with you to discuss the behavioral and academic progress of your
child. As always, thank you for having us help your child achieve academic success!

WRITING: The students write and identify complete and incomplete sentences,
compound sentences, capitalization and punctuation.

PHONICS: The students will distinguish the difference between short and long
vowel sounds, 2-syllables words, prefix, suffix, blends, vowel teams, and
inconsistent word correspondences.

MATH: The students will continue to learn strategies to add & subtract.

Our 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Dawn Holmes-ESOL

Read to Succeed is an exciting PROGRAM that encourages students in grades K through 6 to read
for fun. Students who complete six hours of recreational reading earn a free ticket to Six Flags!
The program is available to teachers and schools at no cost to participate, and it's a great way to
motivate kids to read. READ! READ! READ! and log in those hours!!!
