The Cloud
Today, a lot of technology and Internet
sites rely on the
cloud to store information. Emails, Facebook, Netflix, etc.
are many examples
that use the cloud
for storage. The
cloud is basically an
infinite amount of
storage that is not
physically on your
computer. The
cloud has limitations
of space, but since
there are so many
cloud resources one
person can put just
about anything they

would like to save

one of the many
cloud service options. Now, just because you can put
just about anything
onto the cloud
doesnt mean that
you should. The
cloud can unfortunately be hacked
and accessed by
anyone who knows
how to access it. Be
careful of what you
put in the cloud. Do
not put personal information into any
cloud service, because you do not

know who is able to

access that cloud
service. The cloud
is a very good
source for storage,
just be careful of
what you put into
the cloud.

Edmodo
Edmodo is a website for
teachers to communicate
to their students, and students can also communicate to each other. The
website is kind of set up
like Facebook, but the
teacher has full control
over what can be posted
or not. If someone posts
something that is not related to the class, or is inappropriate, the teacher can
delete the information right

away. Teachers can post

assignments for the students to do, and the students can give feedback
on how the felt about
the assignment. Another interesting thing
about Edmodo is that
teachers can post tests
and quizzes for the students to take during a
certain time period. If a
teacher wants an assignment to be posted

at a specific time, they can

set up a time for the assignment to be available.

Flipping the Classroom

Flipping the classroom is
about having students
watch videos at home
about the lessons, and doing the homework in class
with the assistance of the
teacher. With this strategy,
students are also getting
to review and ask questions about the lesson that
they learned at home. Instead of learning the information in the classroom
and doing the homework
at home, studnets are able
to now learn the lesson in
the comfort of their own
home. Students are able
to work at their own pace
when they are learning
these lessons. There are
some downfalls to flipping

the classroom. The transition for both the teacher

and the students will be
difficult in various ways.
For teachers, they will
have to adjust their ways
of teaching online and in
the classroom. Students
will have to adjust their
routines of in the classroom, and what they do on
their own time at home.
This technique will be

possible with challenges

along the way. Not every
family is going to be able
to afford a device that has
internet access all the
time, so that would put
stress on the public school
systems to provide the
funds for more required
materials.

Digital Censorship
In todays time, we
need to know how to
properly and effectively
use the internet and
the technology being
offered to the public.
Parents need to educate themselves on
what is on the internet
and what their children

are doing on the internet. As parents, we

need to educate our
children on how to use
the internet. We need
to teach them that they
cannot believe everything they read on the
internet.
