Level 1- 10 points
Recall/ Comprehension
Make graffiti that people
living in your book would
likely create to protest the
machinations of their
government. Make this
either on an actual brick
wall or a paper drawn to
look like a brick wall.
Write a plot analysis, starting
with a plot diagram and
then explaining how the
complication started the
conflict and resulted in the
climax and resolution.
Level 2- 20 points
Application/Analysis
Choose 6 quotes that best
show the essential message
your book is teaching, and
make them into posters.
Create a gallery walk and
then explain to the class
how the quotes together
teach the message.
Level 3- 30 points
Synthesis/ Evaluation
Youre a city planner living in
your book BEFORE the
books new society is
formed. Design a new
government that addresses
the problems that exist
without sacrificing future
generations individuality.
Create an accordion-style
pictorial storyboard that
reflects the entire plots
essential chain of events
each pivotal moment must
be depicted.
Create your own fear
landscape. This may be
vibrantly written or
pictorialized, and does not
have to be shared with
classmates. Be honest and
insightful and take ideas
from the books simulations.
Construct a model of the
city and surrounding area,
using the descriptions in the
story to make it as accurate
as possible.
After researching a topic,
plan and teach a 30-minute
lesson to teach the class
about it. Remembermost
people dont learn best from
lectures. Consider the
learning styles of your
classmates and be creative.
Some of these projects will require significant effort, material, and technology outside of class.
As you complete a project, turn it in. Do not wait until the end of our unit to turn them all in.
