The following examples can be tested with scientific investigations:
a. Will ice cubes melt faster in the sun or in the shade?
b. Which brand of breakfast cereal expands the most in an equal amount of
milk?
c. Which shoe has better traction?
d. Will plants grow better with water or milk?
e. Do plants grow better in light or dark?
9. A scientific investigation is made when you collect data, observe, and
experiment.
10. A hypothesis is an educated guess based on observations and your knowledge of
the subject.
11. The variable is the part of the experiment you can change that might affect the
outcome.
12. The conclusion summarizes the importance of your experiment and the results.
