September 1
Labor Day

The new school year is well

under way and boy, it is
flying by! Mrs. Shex and Mrs.
Williams and other teachers
in the Iron County School
District spent two full days
at district trainings learning how to become more
effective educators.
One of the highlights was a
simulation-based training titled Bridges out of
Poverty.
Its objective was to help educators and
administrators understand the effects of poverty on
children and families.

Social Studies
We have been following the recent

English
In English, we have been doing a lot

Student Art Project of the Month

This
project
was completed by a
student*
for
our
Art Foundations

was
inspired
by
a
similar

from
an
art
textbook.

Mr. Chat

...Foothill. His expertise and quiet
wit is sorely missed by students and
teachers alike.
When asked what he
plans to do with his newfound free
time, Mr. Chat replied that he plans on
traveling and serving a mission for
his church with his wife.

New Technology for our

Classroom
Teachers and school administrators are
thrilled to announce the addition of a
new document camera. This document
camera is not for snapping selfies, but
for the purpose of projecting a
document onto a screen via digital
projector. (Think of a document camera
as a 21st century version of an
overhead
projector.)
Currently,
teachers are utilizing the document
camera to show students text and
images for our Social Studies class
from the book American Born Chinese by
Gene Luen Yang.

the other high schools in the Iron
County School District.
