What Is Contact Angle.

If you dropped liquid on to a solid surface, it
will become rounded by the Surface Tension
of itself; the following equation is established

Measurement Of Contact Angle

/2 Method

This method is generally used for measurement of contact angle

A viscometer is used to measure

the viscosity of a fluids.

Capillary viscometer
The principle is simple measurement
of the time for a volume of liquid
(solution or solvent) to flow through
the capillary in the vertically aligned
Viscometer.

Plate Viscometers
With this type of viscometer the solution is
placed in a space between two plates and
one is moved at constant speed relative to
the other which is held by a torsion wire
on which the viscous drag will exert a
torque: measurement of the torque
change with increase in speed (and hence
shear rate) gives the viscosity of the
solution. If this is repeated for the solvent
the relative viscosity can be readily found.

Pressure imbalance differential

viscometer

It is referred to as differential Viscometer since it measure

relative Viscosity directly. It is also highly sensitive
permitting the accurate measurement of low relative
viscosities and hence measurements at low
concentration.
This viscometer uses fluid analogue
of a Wheatstone bridge electrical circuit to measure
differential viscosity directly from the chromatography
effluent. R1-R4 capillaries. A, B solvent reservoirs.
Pi: inlet pressure. DPT: differential
pressure transducer.
