Topic: How to determine and describe perpendicular lines with slope.

Summary: In this lesson, students will learn the difference between parallel and
perpendicular lines. They will be able to determine the slope of a line and how
the slope is used to determine if lines are perpendicular. They will also learn how
to graph a line perpendicular to another line through a given point.
Activities: Students will begin with a Quick Write about what they know about
perpendicular lines. Students will explore a website comparing parallel and
perpendicular lines. They will then watch two videos explaining perpendicular
lines. The students will take notes from a website and write out key concepts.
They will then do a crossword puzzle to help learn vocabulary. They will
complete a worksheet to practice their knowledge of perpendicular and parallel
lines. Finally they will write a short summary of what they learned in their math
journals.
