CORE COMPETENCY 10

Engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate with individuals, families, groups,

organizations, and communities.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.1

Substantively and effectively prepare for action with individuals, families,

groups, organizations, and communities.

I will review the clients chart and consult with my supervisor when any

clarification is needed in reference to the client history and present. I will

also consult with my supervisor and QP about the clients
accomplishments and any concerns.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.2

Use empathy and other interpersonal skills.

My clients I serve will have my undivided attention and respect when

working with them. I will treat them with respect and be professional at all
times.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.3

Develop a mutually agreed-on focus of work.

CHN audit reviews and staff meetings/trainings are very important.

Meetings help the supervisor and staff members to ensure and sustain
accountability and efficiency progress monitoring across the board.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.4

Collect, organize, and interpret client data.

As an intern at CHN, I was able to gather and collect data/information,

interpret information, and organize the clients goals and intervention for
their treatment.

Assess client strengths and limitations.

Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives.
Select appropriate intervention strategies.

CHN use client assessments to assess the clients strengths and

weaknesses, develop goals, objectives, and interventions for clients

served.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.8

Initiate actions to achieve organizational goals.

I created an updated brochure for the agency to promote services

rendered, locations, and background information about the agency.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.9

Implement prevention interventions that enhance client capacities.

I assisted clients with determining goals they would like to achieve in life

and ways to accomplish these goals.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.10

Help clients resolve problems.

I will research resources and services that benefit clients to improve the

quality of life for them and their families.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 10.13

Social workers critically analyze, monitor, and evaluate interventions.

As an intern and future social worker, I will analyze, monitor, and evaluate

interventions for my clients. I will research and follow-up on my clients

information. I will ensure the clients interventions is working thoroughly
and they are benefiting from the services offered.
