J.D. went over to the book area and sat down with
two friends. She picked up a book and help it the
right way up. She began turning pages from the
front of the book to the back. She looked at each
page and sometimes touched the pictures before
turning to the next one.

J.D. was exploring the sensory table. She picked up a
handful of cotton balls. She put them on the edge of
the table. She used her two hands to separate the
balls. She grabbed one ball between her thumb and
pointer finger in a pincer grasp. She maneuvered her
hand to the hole of the containers lid and pushed the
cotton ball through the hole with her fingers. She
grabbed another cotton ball and repeated it.

Miss Cindy brought out animal memory cards for a
fine motor activity. J.D. did not push the cards into
the wipe container. Instead, she grabbed cards one
at a time and looked at the picture. She pointed to
the dog and said puppy. Then she found a cat and
said kitty. When she came to an elephant, she did
the sign language symbol for elephant and made a
trumpeting sound. Miss Cindy said, That is an
elephant. Can you say elephant? J.D. repeated elfan.

Miss Jenna took out a bag of animal costumes. She put on
the leopard costume. She then pulled out a few other
costumes, named them, and placed them on the floor. J.D.
came to the area and picked up the lion costume. She
handed Miss Sarah the costume and said Help please.
Miss Sarah dressed J.D. Morgan smiled.
After the interested children were dressed, Miss Jenna
started making animal noises and crawling on the ground.
Morgan began to follow Miss Jenna while she said
Roar.

J.D. and her friend had been walking one behind
another on phonebook blocks. Miss Cindy
brought out a basket of zoo animals and placed
them in the block area. The friend noticed the
new toys and picked them up. He brought them
over to J.D. They began to take one animal out at
a time and placing them along the blocks they had
previously been climbing on. J.D. moved the lion
and said Roar. Her friend tried to take the lion
out of her hand. She said Mine, then moved
backwards with and frowned. Miss Cindy
encouraged the friend to give the lion back to J.D.
and they continued lining up the animals next to
teach other.

J.D. walked into the classroom with her mom. She
was carrying a book and her stuffed animal. She
said Hi Cindy and walked over to her to give her a
hug. J.D.s mom filled out her daily sheet as J.D.
held up the book to Miss Cindy. Miss Cindy sat
down to read the book to J.D., who said Bye-bye
Mama after her mom said she was leaving.

J.D. entered the playground for our special visit from a pet.
After seeing the tortoise, she walked back to the door and
tried to open the door and said No turtle! then she started
to cry softly. Miss Cindy comforted J.D. and said Its
okay. You can hold our turtle Shelly. J.D. took the turtle
puppet and sat down. She watched her friends take turns
touching the tortoise and feeding it lettuce.
After about five minutes, Miss Cindy asked J.D. if she
would like to see the turtle closer. She picked J.D. up and
brought her closer to the tortoise. Miss Sarah held the
tortoise so she wouldnt move and scare J.D. She reached
out and touched the tortoises shell.

J.D. was in the dramatic play area with two friends. J.D.
said Night, night and one of the boys laid on the
ground. She and her friend rubbed his back. She then
grabbed a blanket from the shelf and gave it to the other
child to cover him up.

J.D. woke up early from nap. She started crying
when she discovered that Miss Cindy was on her
break and Miss Shaun was in the room. Miss Sarah
helped and took J.D. for a walk. J.D. found Miss
Cindy in Miss Sarahs office, and they looked at
pictures of J.D. on Miss Sarahs computer together
until J.D. calmed down. Miss Cindy then walked
her back to the room and handed her back to Miss
Shaun, saying that she would be back in a few
minutes.
